Olivia LoVerde Spielberg was born in Copiague, New York to Salvatore and Helen LoVerde on March 18, 1947. After a 10 year battle with breast cancer Olivia passed away on February 27, 2013.
Olivia faced her battle with strength and courage beyond words. She lived her last 10 years with this disease to the fullest, never letting it slow her down or stop her from anything…especially when it came to her grandchildren. Her famous words were “I am fine, I feel good” and she said these words up to the very end.
Olivia, even in the toughest times found joy in the simplest things in life. She loved planning birthdays and holiday dinners. A birthday celebration was never to be missed. She loved cooking for her friends and family, and looked forward to Christmas every year so she can bake with her grandchildren.
Olivia was truly a selfless and compassionate woman who was always willing to lend a helping hand. Her love, strength and courage will be missed, but never forgotten. She is a true inspiration to us all.
Olivia is survived by her loving husband of 21 years Steven Spielberg. Her three children: Son - Thomas and Gigi (daughter in law), Son - Michael and Laura (daughter in Law), Daughter- Dawn and her four grandchildren: Grace, Ella, Sebastian, and Emma. Her sister Agnes, Her stepchildren Matthew and Amy.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Olivia’s memory to Susan G. Komen for the Cure – https://secure.info-komen.org/site/Donation2?idb=0&df_id=5300&5300.donation=form1&scid=1041
