Lucy Jane Guttuso

Lucy J Guttuso, age 90, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024. Lucy was born in Buffalo, NY.  She was the daughter of Alfred R Pacini and Helena Pacini.   Lucy was predeceased by her Husband James Guttuso, DDS – they were married for 64 years.   She is survived by her children Joseph with spouse Debbie, James, John with spouse Kristy, Michelle, Gina, Paul with spouse Trinia,  and Peter (predeceased) as well as 10 grandchildren Maegan McConnell, Madeleine Guttuso, Joseph Guttuso, Isabella Guttuso-Browne, John Guttuso, Peter Guttuso, Christopher Guttuso, Anthony Guttuso, Matthew Guttuso, Paul Guttuso.

She Graduated From D’Youville College in 1956 and later she furthered her knowledge in Education at the State University of New York at Buffalo  and Florida Atlantic University

She was an elementary school teacher in Buffalo NY before she fulfilled her calling as a loving Mother.

Her teaching career in Buffalo was at St Gerard Elementary and Maryvale Elementary.    She stopped Teaching to Raise her seven children.   In 1979 Her and James Moved the Family to Florida and She began teaching again at Saint Ambrose Catholic School Followed by many years at Saint Marks Catholic school.  She Earned the Golden Apple Award with the Catholic Diocese of Palm Beach for her dedication to students and 10+ years of Service.

She had many interests.   She has always Loved The Roman Catholic Church and taught Catholic Formation, volunteered in Various Church gift stores and was involved in the initiation of the Perpetual Adoration Chapel of The Most Holy Eucharist at Saint Vincent’s Catholic Church.   She also enjoyed athletics including Tennis and curling.  She enjoyed playing bridge and was an involved member of The Ocean Ridge Garden Club.   Her love of her Husband James and her 7 children fueled an ongoing life passion for Travel including many trips to the Caribbean, Canada, Europe and Especially Italy and Sicily. 

She died surrounded by her family and holding the Crucifix in hope of it’s glory.

Visitations for Lucy will be held on April 26th at 6pm to 8pm at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida.   Catholic Mass will be at Saint Lucy Catholic Church in Highland Beach, FL on Saturday April 27th, 2024 at 2:00 PM with private burial Monday April 29th at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children-Hospital ----http://stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude-today.html?frquency_selected=1&sc_icid=header-btn-donate-now&home-btn-top-right
