Stephen Corr Obituary

Stephen Corr, 79, of Boca Raton passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024.

Steve Corr was a 3rd generation Irishman who was very proud of his heritage and has enjoyed visiting the Emerald Isle to which he had dual citizenship, sharing one of the visits with his daughter Christine. He was born to John and Rosemary in Brooklyn and grew up in Levittown New York with his three siblings, Micki, Jack, and Jimmy. He became a steam fitter in local 638 where he has made many lifelong friendships. He married his first wife Madeline Corr, and together had three daughters Ro, Kat, and Chrissy who they raised in Wantagh, New York.

In 1974 he started living his life according to the Big Book. In the past 50 years, he became a huge inspiration and sponsor to many. He was a go to guy for too many to even count. He was full of wisdom yet very down to earth. He was also a very funny man, a jokester, and his humor has carried him far in life. He has shared many experiences with people that will bring a smile to their face every time they think of him, and the funny memories they have shared.

He was a very spiritual man with a strong belief in God. He was always available to lend an ear, a shoulder to cry on, a confidant to help you work through any problem big or small. He was beyond loved, adored, and appreciated by his family. He was a protector through and through and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his family and his many friends who he considered family. His family expanded in 1991 when his dream of having a son finally came true when his daughter Ro married Frank (“ook” aka “Sonny boy”) who quickly became the son he never had. And recently he was lucky enough to gain another son when kat married Mike. Although he loved his daughters and “sons” fiercely, he has said nothing changed his life more than when he first become a grandpa. He was always a kid at heart and proudly earned the title of “the most awesomest Flubby ever” by “Buggly”, “Mr. Man” and “Doodle”.

Some years after retiring, he moved to Florida. He met his wife, Kim Corr, and a few years later they married in May of 2016 surrounded by their family and friends. Together they created a life in southern Florida.

Steve is survived by his wife: Kim Corr

His loving daughters:

Ro(husband-Frank, daughter-Toni, son-Danny)

Kat (husband-Mike)

Chrissy(daughter-Anastacia)

Siblings:

Micki (husband-Joe)

Lifelong friends George Gennerich, Ken Conry, and Danny Lynch

And many many more people who shared a special bond with this one of a kind man. In his 79 years of his life on earth, he has made a difference in the many lives he has touched. He was one of those guys that once you met him, you wish you had known him your whole life. He was one of the best men you could be blessed to know.

Heaven gained a new angel on April 20th, 2024. And he will undoubtably be missed until we meet again. May he rest in peace
