Shocked to find out today that my first real love in 4th,5th, & 6th grade passed 6 years ago. This was revealed because if our up coming 40th H.S. Reunion. I would bike to her house..My Dad got mad that I carved out initials in the front yard tree (that still stands in Levittown)
Later on in the 80’s we got together occasionally. We took sailing in college together and often went to the beach afterwards. Love you H.H.H 12/12 always.

Holly I'm sorry I promised you that I would never look.
I met Holly (HHH) in 2005 after Wilma and when I was on a Disaster Teem. The first thing I saw in her was that smile it never stopped she glowed with it. My hart stopped she was amazing unstable even. I was with Holly for 3 year's but she could not give the level of commitment that I could. When we broke up I told her I'll keep her alive in my hart by not knowing. I have thought and missed her every day. I took out Hollys pictures on Friday and I'm so sorry I looked. Holly I love you as much today as I did the day we sead goodbye.

Today I was going throigh my phone and computer to review phone numbers when I came upon Holly's contact information. The information was not current so I figured I would Goggle her and I saw the news of her passing last year. The. news is devastating and very hard to accept. My only wish is that she is now at peace and without any discomfort or pain. I often think of her and the times we shared so long ago. She was my first real friend and girlfriend and I remember the times spent with her watching TV and in her den and with her family as if they were yesterday. I wish all of her family and friends peace and the comfort in knowing that ultimately we will all meet again, Ron

I'm very sorry for your loss. It's hard to know what to say when someone we love falls asleep in death. I hope each day gets better for you and that you can draw comfort from the Bible's promise of seeing your loved one again one day in perfect health. (Revelation 21:3,4) (Isaiah 25:8)

I am so saddened to hear of Holly's passing. Holly was my first friend. She was the youngest of six kids, and I was the youngest of seven. Holly had a beautiful smile. She was very kind and had such a sweet and gentle nature. Like Meg said, Holly, Kathy, Meg and I had a lot of fun together and we laughed a lot together. We were lucky to have one another's friendship. Holly will always be in my heart. I am so sorry to the Herring family for your loss. With love, Noreen

I was saddened to hear of the loss of Holly. I can picture her as a little girl running around my parents yard and at Brant Lake. I have a picture here in AZ that Holly painted and gave to my sister Patty which I brought home when Patty passed of her illness. The initials HHH on it always remind me of Helen Holly Herring. May she rest in peace. Thinking of all of you at this time.

Dear George and Julie and really everyone who knew Holly,
Holly was a beautiful baby....I'm her godmother, and it was fun seeing her when she was so young and happy and that's how we all have to remember her.
When I got the sad news I asked Rick to find me Sympathy for the Devil by the Rolling Stones...Odd choice you say...let me explain....When Rick and I were in our first apartment and expecting our first daughter we took Holly and Cathy to the movies and then they slept over. This was in the winter of 1970 /71.
Rick was a Stones fan and was playing an album and the girls were dancing around as I was making their bed and snacks. Holly came over and asked if we could play the "train" song again, we were puzzled and they both said the song that goes "choo-choo" . Rick looked through the music and the girls said stop at that song , they started dancing and singing "choo-choo"...Play it and listen for the
that part , it's pretty early and continues through most of the song. To this day, more than 46 years later, anytime that song comes on the radio (and we are still Stones fans) I remember that night .,and those two little girls and I also call it the "choo- choo" song.
Thinking of Holly dancing is a wonderful memory that I will always have.
Our deepest sympathy to Holly's family, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
With Love,
Connie and Rick

My childhood in Wantagh, LI, was a lot richer with Holly and Kathy living next door. Holly, Kathy and my sister Noreen and I were a close foursome. We would ride bikes all over our neighborhood and play Ring-a-levio. We swam in each other's pools. All of us would spend time in the Herrings' den where we would talk and play games. One time Kathy wrote a song about our town, and Holly, Noreen and I practiced singing parts of the song. It went something like: "Want-a- g-h Ave-nn- uhh, Wan--tagh, NY.!" As we finished singing we all giggled and felt lucky to have one another's friendship. Holly was a good friend and I'll always have such fond memories of her. My heart goes out to the entire Herring family during this difficult time. --Meg
