Rachel Marie (Otto) Wagner

Rachel M. Wagner, 83, of Boca Raton, FL went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 29th, 2016.

Rachel was born on December 30th, 1932 to Dr. Edgar and Anna Otto in Cherokee, IA. She graduated from Wilson High School in St Paul, Minnesota, and then went on to graduate from Macalester College in 1954 with a Bachelor’s Degree in English.

Rachel had a love for her Savior, Jesus Christ, and shared her faith with all those she came to know. She had an infectious smile and laughter throughout her life. She had a great love of life, and shared her joy telling jokes and making people smile. However, friends also remember Rachel for having a way to “Tell it like it is” when she had a question or opinion.

Rachel was very active throughout her lifetime. She excelled in ice skating at a younger age, and went on to become an excellent tennis player, winning many trophies and awards during her life. She was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Boca Raton for over 30 years. She was an avid reader and a member of the Boca Bath Book Club.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Michael Wagner, her sons Steven and John, sisters Wendy Carey, Becky Fry and husband Vic, Sister in law Shirly Braun and Ethelann Richardson, Brother in law William Wagner and his wife Lois, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A gathering in her honor will be held on Friday, June 3rd, from 4-8pm at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton. A memorial service will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4th at 11am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Boca Raton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
