Having just learned of your father's passing Nancy and Albert, I cannot express enough how much his friendship meant to my own father. Please accept our many condolences from the Bliss family. Your father was always a man of great discipline and respect. I always embraced the moments when our paths crossed. .

Please accept our deepest condolences on Uncle Liu's passing. We chatted with him last July at the family gathering, and we remember how vigorous and sharp he was, so it's hard to believe he's gone. We are so sorry for your loss.

Uncle Pinghui was a gentle, funny soul. I enjoyed the jokes he would tell about using his hearing aid (or NOT) and the fantastical garden he would create around his house from found cutlings. I will miss him terribly.

I am deeply sorrowful to have missed knowing Dr. Liu personally. After reading his 400+ page Autobiography regarding his experiences in three countries (Taiwan/Formosa, Japan, and the U.S.), I learned about a life that was full of deep observation and humanity regarding people, cultures, and his commitment to living a full life. I do hope that his life's ventures will receive more understanding and appreciation. He is a model of a cosmopolitan gentleman and scholar.

Very sad to learn of the death of my cousin, Pinghui Liu. He connected me to my family and its history and for this I am forever grateful. With our thoughts and much sympathy to his immediate family from his cousin, Richard King, and family.

Great Uncle "", (Dua-Gu), means the eldest brother of my mom, that's what I was taught to address him with respect ever since my childhood, the name will remain in my heart forever !
