Phyllis, Kate, and the Higgins Family; Walt and I are very sorry to hear of Hugh's passing. We hope that you find comfort and peace in the knowledge that your husband/father/grandfather/great-grandfather is truly and most assuredly with God, the Blessed Mother and Jesus in Heaven where I am sure he is being treated grandly due to his faithful service to God. What a cheerful and wonderful man he was, always making sure that he asked about others, and never talked about his own problems or troubles,,,never letting on about anything that he was going through. It was a gift to have him in YOUR LIVES I am sure, but also he touched other lives in special ways. Walt sends his heartfelt condolences...He greatly enjoyed knowing Hugh. God Bless You all! Rest in Peace Mr Higgins...we will miss that smile and cheerful way about you.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Higgins passing. While I never had the pleasure of meeting him, I know what joy and love he brought to Kate and your family and from comments posted, to all he met. One of the first parents I met at SJA (1968-2002). We also shared numerous social occasions especially with the Smickilas Family. Many years ago, Mrs. Jessie Hilton and I were in Jupiter eating within view of the lighthouse when the waitress said that our meal had been paid for by the generous Hugh and Phyllis Higgins. Always generous, and delightful whenever we would meet and greet. Sincere sympathy in love and friendship to Phyllis and the children that I was privileged to teach in the years past.
