Zulma Jasmine Camacho, 51, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, passed away on January 10, 2026.
Zulma was born in Manhattan, New York, and spent her childhood years in Corona, Queens. At the age of 15, she moved with her family to Boca Raton, Florida. Though Florida became her home, New York always held a special place in her heart.
A hard worker by nature, Zulma began working at just 16 years old. She dedicated her life to providing for her family, most notably through her many years at Publix and later at La Bamba. She truly loved her work and the people she met in her life’s journey. Zulma loved life and people deeply. She was a devoted mother of five and worked tirelessly to give her children the best life possible. The greatest loves of her life were her children, grandchildren, and her beloved dog, Baby, who was her constant companion and brought her endless joy.
Zulma was preceded in death by her father, Juan Camacho. She is survived by her loving children: Brenda Salcedo (Rafael), Anthony Almonte (Sabrina), Christian Almonte, Isabella Almonte, and Larissa Duncan; her cherished grandchildren Roselani Salcedo, Eliana Salcedo, Angelo Salcedo, and Ophelia Almonte; her mother, Rosa Camacho; her sister, Jenny Camacho-Hernandez (Michael) niece Stella; and her adored dog, Baby.
Adventurous at heart, she was always eager to stay active, meet new people, and experience new places. She looked forward to every new encounter, whether it was a city or a person. Her passion for travel took her across the world, as she recently fulfilled a dream of traveling to Paris and Italy. She was always up for a big road trip too, visiting many states, including Massachusetts, Tennessee, Colorado, California, and Pennsylvania, where she made friends wherever she went seemingly instantly.
Her love for Disney was unmatched. She was the go to person for any Disney news for anyone who knew her. A true sports fan, she proudly supported the New York Yankees and the Buffalo Bills. Zulma will be remembered for her lively personality, adventurous spirit, loving heart, tireless work ethic, infectious happiness, and her unwaveringly positive outlook on life.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Sunday, January 25 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton where a Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM.
