Zdenko Ivan Crnica

Zdenko Ivan Crnica, 68, passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 in Boca Raton with his loving wife and daughter by his side. 
Zdenko was born on August 7, 1952 in Zagreb, Croatia to the late Ivan and Ankica Crnica. He was nicknamed Braco by his beloved big sister Jadranka. Zdenko was a devoted son and brother, always showing his unconditional love for his family. 

He met the love of his life, Slavica, in Zagreb and they married on July 29, 1978. Zdenko and Slavica had their daughter, Kristina, in 1981 and moved to Boca Raton, Florida shortly after in 1986.  Zdenko worked for the Boca Raton Community Hospital Biomedical Department for over 30 years. He enjoyed his co-workers and made lasting friendships. Upon retiring, he spent his free time tinkering in his garage, fixing anything and everything, taking evening walks with his wife, chatting with neighbors and playing with his two grandchildren, who called him Dida. 

Zdenko was known for his sense of humor, kindness, selflessness and generosity. He made everyone feel like family, welcoming them to his home with open arms. His generosity with his time, helping hands and giving was unparalleled  He was a wonderful husband, father, uncle and grandfather. He and his wife were inseparable, and danced at parties like newlyweds even after being together 45+ years. His daughter was his pride and joy and their bond was very special. His son-in-law and many of his nieces and nephews considered him a second father. His grandchildren adored him and always looked forward to him picking them up from school and spending time with them. He kept a never-ending supply of ice cream for them in his garage so that they may tinker together and play outside. 

Zdenko is survived by his wife Slavica, daughter Kristina DiMicco, son-in-law Frank DiMicco, grandchildren Lena and Christian, and sister Jadranka Ledic. 

A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Monday, July 12 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton.  A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 13 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton.  Burial will follow at the Boca Raton Cemetery.
