Wendy Lynn Watson Stapleton, 63, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024 at Hospice by the Sea in Boca Raton, Fl after a lengthy illness.
Wendy was born August 31,1960 in El Paso Texas to Jerry and Nornell Watson. Wendy Graduated from Elgin High School in 1978 where she excelled in Drama, Cheer and athletics. She married Kent Stapleton of Lawton Oklahoma on June 27,1981. The family eventually moved to Boca Raton, Fl where she found her calling and completed her bachelor’s and master’s degree in education. Wendy worked at Boca Raton Christian School for 28 years holding many positions. She ended up being named Head of School, A position she held for 5 years while she also battled this disease.
Wendy was a long-time member of First Baptist Church Boca Raton Florida where she served in many capacities. She also coached girls’ basketball alongside her husband and was always seen at Boca Christian events.
Survivors include husband Kent Stapleton of Boca Raton, Fl, two sons and their wives. Cody and Jana Stapleton of Bradenton Florida and Kelly and Meridith Stapleton of Manhattan, NY. She also had 5 grandchildren which were her joy. Jackson, Luke and Aubrey Stapleton of Bradenton Florida and Everett and Eisley Stapleton of Manhattan, NY. Two sisters, Terri Riddle of Beaumont Texas and Jerriann Speed of Mansfield Tx
She was preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Nornell Watson of Beaumont, Tx
Memorial donations can be made to Boca Raton Christian School special project
A memorial service will be held at the Boca Raton Community Church, Boca Raton, Fl on June 29, 2024 at 10AM. In honor of Wendy, the color of the day will be Purple.
