Walter Reagan Yarbrough Jr. (1948–2024)
Deerfield Beach, FL
Walter Reagan Yarbrough Jr., 76, of Deerfield Beach, passed away on November 29, 2024, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Reagan was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to Walter Reagan Yarbrough Sr. and Jeanne Guerlayne Fuller.
Reagan’s love for learning and his diverse interests led him to graduate from the University of Memphis with a Bachelor's degree in both Psychology and Journalism. He relocated to Florida in 1978, where he would go on to have a fulfilling career as the Planning and Zoning Director for the cities of Pompano Beach and Oakland Park. His work in local government was characterized by a deep commitment to community development and urban planning.
Outside of his professional life, Reagan was an avid golfer, enjoying countless rounds with friends and family over the years. He found peace and joy on the golf course, often surrounded by those who loved him. When not golfing, Reagan treasured spending time with his family and his beloved dog, Zalla, who brought him great comfort and companionship.
Reagan is survived by his devoted wife, Agnieszka; his two daughters, Erin and Kelly; his grandson, Jackson; his brothers Jon and James; sister-in-law Dorota; and his nieces and nephews: Alexis, Alex, Jon, and Luise. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Reagan’s life will be held on Sunday, December 8, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Glick Funeral Home, 3600 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, FL 33431.
Reagan’s legacy of kindness, wisdom, and dedication to his family and community will remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
