Walter William Nelson

Walter William Nelson, died on May 2, 2023, at Hospice by The Sea. He was born December 22, 1942, in Anaheim, California, the son of Rex William Nelson and Mildred Lott Nelson. Following his time with the naval reserves, Rex moved his wife and two children to Fort Pierce, Florida, where he purchased a bus station. Bill would work for the family bus station throughout his 4 years at Dan McCarty High School, where he graduated from in 1961. It is also during this time period that Bill met the love of his life, Linda Ross.

Following high school graduation, Bill attended Stetson University where he graduated with a Bachelors Degree in History. During his senior year at Stetson, Bill and Linda were married. They were to celebrate their 59th wedding anniversary this June.

After graduating from Stetson, Bill and Linda moved to Boca Raton, Florida where he completed his Master’s Degree in Education at Florida Atlantic University.  The two would live the remainder of their marriage there as educators for the Palm Beach County School system.

Bill is survived by his adoring wife, Linda Ross Nelson, their two daughters, Melanie Lynn Nelson and Heather Ann McAuliffe, and his sister, Jo Ann Nelson, as well as, his three grandchildren, Alexandra Taylor McAuliffe, Logan Tyler Sweeney, and Jack William McAuliffe.
