Virginia Leggat was born in Detroit, Michigan on New Year's Eve, 1924, and died at age 100, in Boca Raton, Florida on September 10th, 2025. Virginia was saved by the grace of God, who brought her through life's dark valleys. She was a lifelong student of the Bible and completed the 7 year Bible Study Fellowship program.
Virginia pursued life to the fullest. She was a Bridge enthusiast, a true gourmet cook, and award winning floral designer, and artist and a master gardener.
With her accounting skills she assisted her husband Arthur, in starting up and successfully managing their 5 businesses over a 50+ year period. During those years, she squeezed in time to serve as president of the Soroptimist Club and was active in starting up various volunteer projects in her community and church. One of her projects after 9/11, was creating a Cookie Brigade that provided homemade cookies for the sailors at the local US Coast Guard station.
Virginia's favorite role in life though was being a mother, a grandmother, and when finally, she was blessed to be a great grandmother her joy was complete!
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Wright, and spouse, Pat Wright, her grandsons Ryan Wright, Matthew Wright and spouse Stephanie Wright, her granddaughter Christy Michaelson, and great grand daughter Juliana Wright and great grandson, Logan Wright. She was preceded in death by her husband Arthur S. Erickson, her husband John Leggat, her daughters Mary Lou Michaelson, Anita Erickson, and her son Arthur R. Erickson, her brother Robert Aylsworth and her sister Jacqueline Fuerst.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, October 1, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Boca Raton.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church.
