Vincent Liotta, affectionately known as Jimmy, was born on November 21, 1931, in Brooklyn, NY, and passed away on August 26, 2024, in Boca Raton, FL. A proud United States Marine sharp shooter, Jimmy lived a life full of dedication and love.
He was a world-class baker and a successful business owner, known for his exceptional bread baking skills and sweet creations. Jimmy was married to his beloved wife, Joan, for nearly 70 years, a partnership that brought joy and stability to their family. Together, they raised three children: Rosario, Anthony, and Emily, all of whom carry forward his legacy of love and laughter. Jimmy also cherished his role as a grandfather, and great grandfather creating lasting memories with his many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Jimmy’s favorite pastimes included being surrounded by family, indulging in good food, going to the casino, playing online poker and horse racing. He was a fan of good movies, including westerns and science fiction. He particularly enjoyed "The Godfather. Jimmy loved Frank Sinatra and his favorite song was “My Way” which he regarded as an anthem about his long life. His nickname was Jimmy Mambo.
Those who knew Jimmy remember him for his sweet, easy-going, and gentle personality. He was always there for everyone, making a positive impact on the lives of those around him. He was an absolute super hero caring for his wife Joan for the last several years who suffers from severe dementia.His belief in God, and his quiet nightly prayers guided him daily, providing comfort and strength.
Jimmy Liotta will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will long remember him for his unwavering love, laughter, and kindness.
A visitation will be held at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, FL on Thursday, September 5th, from 4-7pm. A funeral service will be held the following day at Glick Family Funeral Home at Noon. He will be laid to rest immediately following at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth, FL at 2pm with military honors.
