Timothy Badder Obituary

Timothy Badder, beloved father, adored grandfather,  cherished brother, and dear friend, passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 66.  An expert fisherman and world-class smartass, Tim had a knack for making people laugh even when they probably shouldn’t.

Born on March 1, 1958, in Royal Oak, Michigan, Tim found his greatest joy out on the water with a fishing rod in hand, casting his line.  Fishing wasn’t just a hobby for him—it was a way of life, a ritual of patience and skill that mirrored his approach to life.  He spent countless hours out on the water, telling stories, cracking jokes, and catching fish.

Back on dry land, Tim built a successful career as an Aflac agent, dedicating himself to helping others find security in uncertain times.  His clients were people he truly cared for, and he took pride in providing them with the guidance and support they needed.  His work ethic and business acumen enabled him to build a business that took him all over Florida, perfect for scoping out new fishing spots.

Tim Badder leaves behind his loving family, children (Bridget, Austin, and Marina), granddaughter (Valentina), sister (Judy), niece (Katie) and nephew (Chris).  Tim’s family will miss his sarcasm, his wisdom, and the way he could make even the most frustrating situations a little bit funnier.  His legacy is one of laughter, love, and a long list of people who were lucky enough to know him—even if he never let them win an argument or worse, a game of Monopoly.

A celebration of his life will be held privately and in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Take A Kid Fishing, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of underprivileged kids through mentoring and fishing excursions.

The world is a little less fun without him, but we know he’s sitting on a boat somewhere with a fishing pole and a cigar, shaking his head at the sentimentality of it all and muttering to himself that we got at least half of it wrong.
