Teresa Roth Obituary

Teresa A Roth was born in Lima, Peru to Violeta Yolanda Compodonico and Angel Bartolome DeCesari, she was the oldest of four children.  She graduated from Rosa De America High School in 1959.  She received a scholarship from her Methodist Church and came to London, Kentucky to attend Sue Bennett College.  Upon graduation she moved to New York City to work for the Methodist Synod.  There she met a young soldier and married.  They had two wonderful daughters, Terry and Lynn  together and traveled to various military posts in the US and Germany.  Later as a single mother she raised Terry and Lynn working for the NJ Farm Bureau then moving to Chicago, Illinois to work for the Illinois Farm Bureau and then Motorola.  With her children grown, she moved to Deerfield Beach, Florida to enjoy the weather, beaches and continue running in warmer temps.  She was a strong runner and motivated others to join her.   She completed 11 full marathons and several half marathons.

In 2002, her daughter Lynn, husband Jay and granddaughter Amanda joined her in Florida. A few years later Jake was born and became her bestfriend.  She was so happy and complete to have her daughter and grandchildren in Florida. She was a devoted grandmother to Andrew Darroch, Amanda Okulanis, Ashley Darroch and Jake Okulanis.

While running, she met her second husband , Leonard Roth and they had a loving relationship.  Leonard developed dementia and was placed in a nursing home.  She was a devoted caretaker spending hours daily making sure he was taken care of and comfortable.

She was widowed for 3 years and was renewing her friendships and living life to the fullest.

She is survived by her daughters Terry, husband Chris Darroch and Lynn, husband Jay Okulanis, her grandchildren Andrew Darroch, Ashley Darroch, Amanda Okulanis and Jake Okulanis.  Her sisters Silvia, husband James Snyder, Elsa, husband Carlos Zavala and brother Luis, wife Elizabeth DeCesari.  She is especially grieved by her nephews Curtis, Mike, Kevin and Carlos, nieces Gisella, Paola and Kharem.
