Taylor Bliss Obituary

Taylor Philip Bliss, our beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to so many, passed away unexpectedly on October 29, 2019, at the age of 34. Taylor was born at Bethesda Hospital in Boynton Beach and has resided in Boca Raton his entire life, with exception of a two-year visit to Colorado, where he always dreamt of settling down. He attended MECE Preschool, St. Joan of Arc Catholic School and Pope John Paul II High School.  He then served 2 years in the United States Marine Corps.

Over the years, Taylor worked in many facets, always looking for that ‘special’ opportunity. He tried a desk job or two, but he was not built for office work. He loved physical work, whether it be construction, cooking, cleaning pools, teaching kids skiing in Colorado, or, most recently, becoming a highly sought-after ‘almost’ tree surgeon, he always gave it his very best. In that field, they don’t just call it a job – it is a way of life.

His foremost passion was fishing, anywhere or anytime. He was always up for the call and never missed an opportunity to be on the ocean. He felt a strong connection to the sea and loved every aspect of that beautiful part of nature.

Taylor also was passionate about mining for crystals and tending to his orchids and Bonsai trees. He would take his truck to Okeechobee and spend the weekend digging and clawing for that special piece of this earth that he treasured. His collection of many specimens is vast and beautiful and he was ever cautious allowing anyone to handle his gems. The orchids and Bonsai trees adorn our back yard and thrive due to his unending care. He had a loving heart and lived every day to the fullest.

He will also be remembered as a terrific uncle to Lilly, Rocco, Dutch and Kate, his nieces and nephews. They loved him and his silly games and crazy antics that kept them all laughing. He could endlessly quote movies, listen to all types of music, and loved to research and educate himself on a multitude of topics.

Most of all Taylor will be remembered for his loving ways with his family. There wasn’t a thing he wouldn’t do for anyone, except maybe helping someone move. He loved his family as they loved him. He will be deeply missed by all and had the most loving heart imaginable. He is survived by his parents, Dutch and Diane, his sisters, Courtney and Kelly, his brothers-in-law Ron and Kevin and those wonderful four nieces and nephews.
