Sybil Doreen Dash was born on July 7, 1924, in Sergeants Village, Christ Church, Barbados, to her parents, Leotta Foderingham and Joseph Griffith.
Sybil was the beloved wife of the late Lemuel Dash. Together, they shared a beautiful and loving union that lasted for 57 wonderful years. Their marriage was a testament to love, family, and a lifetime shared together.
From that union came three children: Monica Edgehill, Anselmo Dash, and Dr. Lamar Dash.
Sybil was also a proud and loving grandmother to six grandchildren: R. Christopher Edgehill, C. Monique Lewis, Jan Dash, Shareen Dash, Kisha Dash, and Imani Dash. She was blessed to know and love five great-grandchildren, whose lives were made brighter by having her in them.
She was also surrounded by loving family, including her late son-in-law Rudolph Edgehill, Yvonne Dash, and Patricia Dash.
Throughout her 102 years, Sybil's life touched and enriched the lives of so many. She had a way of making people feel welcomed, and remembered. Her infectious laughter, beautiful smile, warmth, and presence brought light into the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
In her final moments, Sybil was at home, surrounded by the love of her daughter, Monica, and her grandson, Christopher. In a moment that beautifully reflected the love she shared with her family throughout her life, her final request was for Monica and Christopher to come into the room before she passed on. They were there beside her, giving her the comfort, love, and presence she asked for as she peacefully transitioned from this life.
The world will feel a little less bright without her, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain forever. Her life lives on through her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, family, and all those whose lives she touched.
She leaves behind not simply a lifetime of memories, but a legacy of love that will continue from generation to generation.
May she rest peacefully, knowing that she was deeply loved, profoundly cherished, and will never be forgotten.
