Shirley Huggins Obituary
Shirley Avinger Huggins, 80, of Deerfield Beach, FL passed away October 26, 2024. Born on February 4, 1944 in Charleston, SC, Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, cherished by all who knew her.
Shirley graduated from Conway High School in Conway, SC before advancing her education at Limestone College. She dedicated many years of her career to customer service within the building supply and roofing industry, where she was known for her diligent work ethic and kindness.
Family was the cornerstone of Shirley's life. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill Huggins; daughter, Shalise Huggins DeMott (Don); son, Tom Huggins (Tracy); grandchildren, Caroline DeMott, Matthew DeMott, Cooper Huggins, and John Thomas Huggins; and brother, John Avinger. She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. Avinger and Louise Honeycutt Avinger of Conway, SC.
In addition to spending time with family, Shirley's passions included reading and spending time at the beach.
A private family gathering will be held to honor Shirley's life. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or Salvation Army, organizations that were meaningful to Shirley.
