Sherwin Kite, 85, of Boca Raton, Florida, and formerly of the Chicago area, died peacefully, surrounded by family.
Sherwin was the beloved husband of Kim for 33 years; loving father of Brian and his wife, Miura; David and his wife, Dana; and Wendy Berg and her husband, Robert. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Ben, Emily, Danielle, Sienna, Austen, Calder, and Noah, and the adored companion of his dog, Wrigley. He is also survived by his sister, Judy Metzger, and her husband, Nate.
Sherwin had a long and respected career at the International Monetary Market (IMM) at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, where he also served for many years as a member of the Board of Governors. He was known for his sharp mind, dry wit, and tenacity. Many of his friends described him as larger than life, a force, a man unafraid to tell you exactly what he thought. He loved giving advice and valued hearing from his kids, grandkids, and friends. You could often find him on the golf course or the ski slope, equally passionate about the mountains and spirited conversation.
He lived fully, spoke boldly, and loved deeply, and those lucky enough to know him will carry his voice and presence with them always.
A memorial service to celebrate Sherwin’s life will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 5:00 PM at Briarwood Country Club in Deerfield, Illinois.
