Scott Heckman Obituary
Scott Heckman, age 59, tragically passed away on June 1, 2022. Scott was born on May 2, 1963 in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania until he eventually made his way to Florida while he was in elementary school. Scott has lived in Florida ever since. Scott started his career as a bag boy at Publix when he was 15 years old. Scott met his wife, Karla, 7 years later at Store #246. They got married in April of 1990 and had two beautiful children in 1994 and 1996. Scott recently retired from Publix in March of 2022 after a remarkable 44 year career where he was the Senior Production Manager at the Publix Warehouse in Deerfield.
Scott was an Ironman and was passionate about participating in marathons and triathlons. Scott participated in too many to count.
Scott is survived by his wife, Karla Heckman, his children, Kayla and Kyle Heckman, two dogs, Bella Bear and BooBear (who, according to Scott, taking care of was a full time job he did not enjoy), his parents, Nancy and Gus Koegler, siblings, John and Melody Heckman, Pam and Rick Kirby, Kat Lamadore, Mark and Debbie Migliozzi, Tony and JoAn Migliozzi, Tom and Collette Migliozzi, Crissy Migliozzi and a bunch of nieces and nephews.
Scott joins in heaven his father, John Heckman, his fathers in law, Poppy and Edward Lamadore, his grandmother, Grandma Crater and Nanny Emmert and his nephew Grant Bodle. He is also reunited with his dogs Ninja, Nintu, Sam, and Holly Beary.
Please join us in celebrating Scott’s life on June 12, 2022 at 1pm (with services beginning at 2pm) at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, FL. The address is 3600 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431.
A reception will follow at Lakeside Terrace Boca Raton from 4:30pm-7:00pm. The address is 7880 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, FL 33434.
For those attending Scott’s celebration of life, feel free to not wear black. If any men have Tommy Bahama shirts laying around, put ‘em on, those were Scott’s favorite.
