Sandra Elizabeth (Kiel) Schuyler

On Thursday, May 9th, 2024, Sandra Kiel Schuyler, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, and soon to be grandmother, was laid to rest peacefully surrounded by family.  She was 61 years old.  Born to Patricia and Stanley Kiel, Sandi spent most of her life in Boca Raton after her parents relocated with IBM in 1968.

After graduating from the University of Central Florida, Sandi returned to Boca and ran a successful children’s clothing store with her mother.  She married Cortlandt Schuyler in 1988 and raised three children, Serena, Kyle, and Celia.  Sandi went on to own multiple businesses with her husband, Cortlandt. In more recent years while still helping Cortlandt with running the day-to-day operations, Sandi also worked for the city of Boca Raton at the community tennis courts. Sandi still found time to care for her aging parents throughout their later years even through her own battle with cancer.

Her family remembers their fondest times of taking trips every summer to their lake house in Tennessee, frolicking around Paris with her daughters and close friends on a Thanksgiving trip, driving down Card Sound Road to Ocean Reef listening to Jimmy Buffet and riding around on the golf cart admiring all the houses, and watching movies surrounded by family on the couch or in the daybed. 

Sandi enjoyed playing tennis, spending time with family and friends, and was a fun, caring and loving person, and would be there any time anyone ever needed her.

She is survived by her husband Cortlandt, daughters Serena and Celia, her son Kyle, her mother Patricia, her brother Tom, and sisters Claudia and Lisa.

Sandi’s wishes were for a private funeral with just family which will be held Friday.

Please feel free to join us at St. Paul Lutheran Church on Sunday, May 19, for Sandi’s favorite service at 9:00 am, followed by a short memorial service to honor Sandi outside in the St Paul Memorial Garden. Please join us for a celebration of life afterwards at 980 N. Federal Highway, Boca Raton, Florida 33432 at 11am. Food and soft drinks will be provided.
