Sandra "Sandy" Sue Bessio passed away peacefully on April 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on June 18, 1950, Sandy lived a life full of grace, kindness, and passion.
Sandy's career was defined by her dedication and hard work. She spent many years with IBM before retiring as a Networking Director at Champion Solutions, a role she took great pride in. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sandy loved antiquing with her sisters and friends, shopping, and spending quality time with her beloved family and her dog, Toby. A talented cook and baker, Sandy found joy in creating delicious meals and treats, making her kitchen the heart of many cherished memories.
Her warmth and generosity extended to everyone she met. Sandy devoted herself to volunteering and supporting various causes, leaving a legacy of compassion and service.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Joanne Pettit; her brothers, James Warren, Terry Mylott, and Ralph Pettit Jr.; and her sisters, Barbara Malott and Donna Davis.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Henry Bessio; her children, Brian Duez (Julie), Andrew Bessio (Christy), and Brie Duez (Bethany); her grandchildren, Anthony, Alex, Kelly, Mikayla, and Siena; and her great-grandson, Theo. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathy Hartley, Carol Duez (Robert), Becky Pettit, and Vicky Neaveill (Timothy); and her brothers, Dennis Pettit, Ronnie Pettit (Joy), and Robert Warren (Laurie).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Sandy's honor, as that is what she would have wanted.
The family would like to share a poignant reflection: "We little knew that day, God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, In death, we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, You did not go alone. For part of us went with you, The day God called you home. You left us beautiful memories, Your love is still our guide. And although we cannot see you, You are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, And nothing seems the same, But as God calls us one by one, The chain will link again."
