Roy Michael Remite, 87, beloved husband and father, devoted son and brother, and dear friend to many, left this earth to enter Heaven on Thursday afternoon, July 25, 2024, to be with God and reunite with his many loved ones who left before him.
He was born and raised in Elizabeth, New Jersey by his parents James and Gillian Remite. After completing Thomas Jefferson High School, Roy went on to study Accounting at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, where he played NCAA Football. Upon graduating with a degree in Accounting, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served in the Mediterranean and throughout Europe.
During his career, Roy worked as Comptroller and Business Manager for numerous corporations in New York City.
Roy’s heart was his family, and he had a passion for helping others. He was an incredibly loving and humble man who touched the lives of many. He was known for his selfless generosity and supported numerous religious, animal and veteran’s charities. He had a passion for watching both college and NFL football, as well as his beloved NY Yankees, and had a great love for animals.
He was loved by so many and will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his father James J. Remite, his mother Gillian Remite, brother Nicholas Remite and sister Angelina Higgins. He is survived by his former wife, Aristi Constantin, and their children, James J. Re Mite (Dana Sawan) and Ghilia Smith (Mike Smith); grandchildren Brandon Sargent, Alexandra Humphries, Elisabeth Killinger, Michelle Verkamp and Michael Smith.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Lucy’s Church in Highland Beach, Florida on Tuesday, July 30 at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Boca Raton Cemetery.
