Ronald A. Zazzira

Ronald Zazzira, 83, passed away peacefully at his home in Boca Raton, FL on August 5th, 2023.

Ronald (also known as Ron and Ronnie Z) was born October 5th, 1939, to Anthony and Anita Zazzira. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Frances Zazzira, his two daughters, Patricia and Christine Zazzira, his grandchildren, Paulina (Joe) Fischer, Franky Pezzo, and Cristina Zammataro, his sister, Janet Graf, his nieces, Jennifer Colunga and Amanda Rodriguez, his brother-in-law, Ed Terzo, and his nephews, Eddie and Joseph Terzo.

After graduating from Middletown Township School in New Jersey, he enlisted and served in the United States Army, where he was a paratrooper. Ronald and Frances got married on August 21st, 1965. They lived in Staten Island, NY before moving to Boca Raton, FL in 1976 with their children. Ron led a successful career in the construction industry for over 40 years. He was an entrepreneur who owned a plastering and hurricane window company. In addition, he built several commercial properties in Stuart, FL. 

Ron’s inquisitiveness and keen intellect drove all of his pursuits. His favorite pastimes included aviation, collecting classic cars, traveling the world with his wife, and botany/farming/gardening. He was had a green thumb, was very artistic, and was a true American patriot. He was also an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus. Above all, Ron was most passionate about his family. He was a hard-working, generous man, who loved unconditionally and wore his heart on his sleeve. His warmth was felt by everyone he encountered, and the world will definitely be less bright without him in it. Ron will be forever remembered by his heart of gold and deeply missed by everyone who was fortunate and blessed enough to know him.

Join us to celebrate Ron's life. A visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Thursday, August 10 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 11 at Ascension Catholic Church in Boca Raton. Entombment will follow at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.
