It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Ronald H. Kurlander, a beloved psychiatrist, father, and community advocate. Ron was born in Long Beach, New York, and resided in South Florida for 45 years. On December 9, 2024, Ron passed away at the age of 76. Known for his intelligence, wit, and warm personality, he had a unique ability to connect with anyone he met.
Throughout his remarkable career as a psychiatrist, Ron dedicated himself to helping thousands of individuals, providing guidance, therapy, and care to those in need. His influence extended beyond his profession, as he was a respected and compassionate member of his community.
Ron was an adventurous spirit who loved boating, skiing, and exploring the world. A seasoned traveler, he embraced different cultures and brought an abundance of knowledge and experiences to those around him. As a long-term South Florida native he loved scuba diving, lounging on the boat, and a great day relaxing on the water as the waves rolled by.
Above all, Ron was a devoted father. He is survived by his son, David Kurlander, who continues to carry forward his father’s legacy of love and kindness.
Ron’s life was marked by his unique charm and unwavering positivity. He cherished his dogs, a constant companion and confidant. As an animal lover, Ron encouraged others to appreciate the joy and unconditional love that pets bring to our lives.
His passing leaves an indelible mark on all who knew him, and his memory will live on in the hearts of family, friends, and the countless lives he touched. He will be greatly missed by all.
Memorial Services will be held at the Glick Family Funeral Home on December 20. There will be a gathering at 1pm, with memorial services for Ron starting at 2pm.
