Roderick J. Mangan, devoted father, grandfather, husband, brother, and father-in-law, passed away in Boca Raton, Florida on May 3, 2026.
He was born on August 25, 1949, in the Bronx, New York, and grew up in Yonkers, where he met and built a life with his late wife, Nancy, of 40 years. Their deep love for one another was evident to all who knew them. Together, they raised their daughters, Alana and Kristen, in Jacksonville, Florida, where they shared many cherished memories—beach days, fondue dinners by the fireplace, and his famous shrimp scampi.
Rod had a fulfilling career with Benjamin Moore for 30 years, where he formed lifelong friendships. Rod and Nancy later enjoyed retirement in Stuart, Florida, where they loved spending time in their home and enjoying afternoons listening to music at The Dolphin. They lived there until Nancy’s passing in 2015. Rod then moved to Boca Raton to be closer to his daughters, living less than a mile from each of them. He loved seeing his grandchildren and enjoyed cheering on their games and activities!
A few years later, he married Mary, and they shared many happy years together. They loved spending time with one another and were often found at their favorite local restaurants, where Rod had a gift for making friends wherever he went.
He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his sense of humor, and the deep love he had for his family.
He is survived by his wife Mary, his daughters, his grandchildren, and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy and his parents, Peter and Eileen Mangan.
Service will be held Tuesday May 12, 2026 at St. Joan Catholic Church in the Chapel at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Wounded Warrior Project, a charity that Rod donated to for many years.
