Robin Burnham Clawson

Robin Comber Burnham Clawson, beloved wife, friend, and rock for her husband, Steve Clawson, of 45 years, passed away peacefully Friday, October 28,2022 at the tender age of 68 from her 10 year war against cancer.  She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Silver and Mimi Burnham, her father Scotty Burnham, her step-mother Joanne Findley, and her brother, Clark Burnham.

She was born August 17, 1954 in Macomb, IL, graduated from Macomb High School and Western Illinois University in 3 years with a Spanish and Teaching major and a member of AOP sorority. Robin taught at Naperville North High School before becoming a flight attendant for United Airlines.  After teaching again for a short while she was accepted and excelled at Loyola Law School becoming a member of the prestigious Law Review Board. As an attorney Robin had an excellent satisfying career with Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps firm, Motorola, Illinois Bell, Culligan Water Softeners, American Tool(vice grips) and Microsoft.  This permitted Steve and Robin to experience living in San Diego, CA, Lake Forest, IL, Seattle, WA and Boca Raton, FL.

Her profession allowed her to pursue her passion of world travel. Robin circumnavigated the globe twice while on business trips. She also brought Steve on many European travels to Stockholm, Madrid, Paris, Cologne.

For pleasure Robin loved to read, plan future trips, and do in depth computer research on anything that could help someone.  She loved music,  dancing, and attending many rock concerts, ballets, and operas.  Owning a convertible car and living near an ocean or great lake was always a must for her.

Robin is survived by her husband,  Steve Clawson, her loving cats Luke and Rory, her sister Kendra Burnham-Miller (Derek)of Scottsdale AZ, sister-in-law Nancy Burnham(Clark) and nephew Kenton of Pekin, IL brother-in-law David (Diane) Clawson and nephew Christopher (Natalie) and grand nephew Charlie Clawson and grand niece Emerie Clawson

Her sense of humor, her passion, and her love of life will be missed.  We love and miss you already Robin.

A celebration of life will be held on a later date in January 2023.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Robin’s memory to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue, West Palm Beach or MD Anderson, Houston, TX or Tazewell County Animal Alliance ASPCA Pekin, IL.
