Robert Francis Mercandino

Robert Francis Mercandino, 79, of Boca Raton, Florida, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2025, in Boca Raton. He was born on October 10, 1946, in Teaneck, New Jersey, to Bert Mercandino and Margaret Mercandino.  

Robert built a distinguished career in finance, beginning in the 1970s as an executive trader at Smith Barney. He later joined Dillon Read, where he served as Senior Vice President and Executive Trader until his retirement in the 1990s. Throughout his career, Robert was known for his deep knowledge of the stock market, professionalism, and integrity.

Robert married Patricia Balina in 1968, and together they raised two children, Rose Marie and Robert Christopher. He later remarried and is survived by his beloved wife, Jennifer Mercandino.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jennifer Mercandino; his children, Rose Marie Zara and Robert Christopher Mercandino; his son-in-law, John Michael Zara; and his cherished grandchildren, Christina Marie Zara and John Robert Zara. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Mercandino.

Above all else, Robert was devoted to his family. He was a constant source of love, support, compassion, and generosity, qualities that defined him throughout his life. He had a lifelong passion for following the stock market and enjoyed sharing his insights with those around him.

A gathering of family and friend will be held from 11-Noon on Saturday, December 27 at Glick Family Funeral Home where a Memorial Service will begin at Noon.
