Robert "Bob" Laska, 73, Hillsboro Beach, FL, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at Hospice by the Sea Care Center in Boca Raton, FL.
Robert was born in Chicago, IL in 1947 to Robert and Grace Laska and graduated from Brother Rice High School. He then joined the Navy to serve his country for 4 years. Following his service, Robert married Judith Bogin and settled outside of Chicago in Palos Park to begin his family. He had a successful flooring business in Illinois, and then relocated to Boca Raton, Fl, in 1989 and began a 2nd career with Robert Laska Luxury Yachts. While living in Boca Raton, he became an active member of St. Ignatius Antiochian Orthodox Church in Boca Raton.
Robert loved being on the water, enjoying his family and friends on the sea. He loved the outdoors, but was passionate about being on the water. He spent many years travelling around the world in the boating business, creating wonderful memories with his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed cycling down A1A.
He is survived by his 2 daughters, Stephanie(Brandt) Wheatley, and Kristina Laska, 3 grandchildren, Kyleigh, Connor, and Elizabeth, his fiance, Jeannie Sabb, 2 sisters, Katherine(Bob) Priest, and Deborah Grimes, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in his honor at on Saturday, March 14, at the Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, FL at 1pm. The Very Reverend, Father Antoun Aaraj will preside over the service.
