Robert O. Holgerson
October 30, 1927 – October 15, 2020
Robert “Bob” Holgerson of Charlotte, NC and Delray Beach, FL passed away on Thursday, October 15 in Boca Raton, FL at the age of 92.
Bob was born October 30, 1927 to Helen Hild and Oscar Holgerson in Rockville Center, New York.
Mr. Holgerson was predeceased by his parents, his wife of 54 years Elaine Blankmeyer Holgerson, former wife Millicent Koehler, sister Christine Emrick, and stepson Drew Lane.
He is survived by a son, John R. (Paula) Holgerson of Deerfield Beach, FL, a daughter Ann (Tom) Fichera of Boynton Beach, FL, a stepson Dwight Lane of Lenox Dale, MA, a nephew Keith (Valerie) Emrick of Loveland, CO and niece Lori Holton of Wheatridge, CO.
He is also survived by his grandchildren James (Sarah) Fichera, Maryann (Tyler) Green, John Patrick Holgerson, Lynn-Holly (Joseph) Roberto, Kellan (Soraya) Squire, Hannah Achura, and a great grandson.
Upon graduating High School in 1945, Bob joined the Navy where he served on the U.S.S. Swasey. He graduated from Adelphi College and worked as a telecommunications system analyst until his retirement in 1989.
During his later years he enjoyed visiting family in Florida and Colorado, travel, birding, golfing, hiking, visiting National Parks and especially attending Navy and college reunions.
The family wishes to thank Bob’s dear friend and neighbor, Doris Messer, for her companionship and compassion. They would also like to thank the staff at Home Instead of Charlotte, Brighton Gardens of Boca Raton Reminiscence Unit and Vitas Hospice.

A private memorial service will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020. St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church, Boca Raton, FL 33432
