Raymond K. Murray of Boca Raton passed away on Thursday, March 8, 2018. Ray was born in Ludlow, Massachusetts, the beloved son of Kenneth and Dorothy Sturm Murray. He was a veteran of the United State Navy serving from 1959 through 1963. Upon discharge from the service he worked for the Longmeadow and Riviera Beach Fire Departments before joining Boca Raton Fire Rescue where he proudly worked from 1968 before retiring in 1993 as Assistant Chief.
A devoted Red Sox and Boston Bruins fan he also enjoyed NASCAR . At home, he was very handy with household projects; he had excellent carpentry skills and built beautiful wood cabinetry. He enjoyed planning vacations for himself and his wife. Their travels brought new experiences and amazing adventures.
Ray will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife and soulmate of 37 beautiful years, Christine McMahon Murray. He also leaves behind loving daughter Stephanie (Oscar) Murray , devoted sons Edward Murray, Kenneth Murray and Jamie (Staci) Cassano; beloved grandchildren Jose and Jaclyn and three great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 11th at Glick Family Funeral Home beginning at 1:00pm with the funeral service at 2:00pm with Boca Fire Department Honors. Everyone is welcome to a reception immediately following at the Boca Elks Lodge. Raymond will be laid to rest in a private ceremony with Military Funeral Honors at South Florida National Cemetery.
