Peter LaBarbera Obituary
Peter Nicholas LaBarbera "Pete the Pipe" of Delray Beach Florida passed away peacefully on July 4th, 2024. Peter was born on August 30th, 1944 in the Bronx, NY to Lielya and Nicholas LaBarbera. He is survived by his son Christopher, daughter Lisa and two sisters Frances Soave and Ann Hoh. He is also survived by his daughter-in-law Jessica, son-in-law Christopher, four grandchildren, Gillian Lee, Hunter Cole, Ava Grace and Christopher John as well as several nieces and nephews.
Peter graduated from trade school as a licensed master plumber and eventually honed in on his entrepreneurial spirit and established Peter N. Labarbera Plumbing & Heating before retiring in 2005. His professional accomplishments continued after retirement and his move to Florida where he became a licensed real estate broker and referral agent. However, Peter's talents didn't stop there. His true gifts were his quick wit, unwavering sense of humor and knowledge and passion for American history and trivia. Throughout his journey he touched many lives and developed countless relationships. Peter was always the life of the party wherever he went. Although he wasn't tall in stature, he stood 6'5" when he walked into a room! He had a habit of attracting and engaging all, and never met a stranger he didn't love, especially if you were also a proud Sicilian from "Da Bronx" and a Yankees fan.
As Peter transitioned into his golden years, he developed a close relationship with the Lord and took comfort knowing that he'd be welcomed to the gates of Heaven with open arms. Ironically, the Lord took him on his favorite Holiday. Peter would have said that he got his "independence" and went out with a bang on the fourth of July! Peter never said goodbye, but rather goodbye for now, knowing that we'll all meet again. Please join us in celebrating Peter's life. He'll be truly missed by all.
