Peter Clarence Jaschinski, of Boca Raton, Florida passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025 at home. He was 79 years old.
Peter was born on December 19, 1945 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin to Clarence and Doris (Hagedorn) Jaschinski. He attended Bethlehem Lutheran School for 8 years and then entered the Public High School in Sheboygan. After high school he attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison and earned a degree in Electrical Engineering.
On campus at the end of his freshman year he met his future wife, Sharon Zembruski. They were married 3 1/2 years later. After their marriage, they moved to Rochester, Minnesota where Peter worked for IBM. They eventually purchased a home in Rochester and two children were born in Rochester (Jennifer and Mitchell). Before they had children of their own Peter was a "Big Brother" (in the Big Brother/Big Sister Program") to a boy named Kevin.
After 7 years IBM transferred Peter to Boca Raton, Florida. A home was built in Boca Raton while he was still in Rochester. That is the same home he passed away in. When the children were growing up he coached soccer for 8 years for his son's team and one of those years he coached 2 soccer teams (his son's and daughter's team). Peter attended St. Paul Lutheran Church in Boca Raton where he often ushered, taught some Sunday School classes, helped his wife when needed with the Altar Guild Program she managed, and was president of the local AAL branch 5725 for 4 years at St. Paul.
After 30 years he retired from IBM. His retirement was spent growing tropical fruit at two fruit farms he owned in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida. Growing fruit and other plants was his passion and he was good at it. Even when he was too ill to go to his 2 farms anymore, he was growing successfully many butterfly plants from seed at home and viewed many YouTube shows on raising butterfly plants and orchids.
Peter is survived by his wife Sharon, son Mitchell, daughter Jennifer Murray, granddaughter Milly Murray, grandson Luke Murray, sister Anne Baker, sister Kay Mauritz, and brother John Jaschinski.
There will be a service in the Memorial Garden at St. Paul Lutheran for the immediate family and a memorial service at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Peter's honor to Concordia Seminary or the American Cancer Society.
