Patricia Marguerite Leitner

Patricia Marguerite Leitner, age 63, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, while in her home and surrounded by Family.  Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Patricia Ann and Loyd R. McCoy ll.  Patty is survived by her husband of 35 years Scott R. Leitner and son and daughter-in-law Bryan S. Leitner and Cynthia Leitner, Boca Raton, FL., and son and daughter-in-law Dane E. Leitner and Samantha N. Leitner, West Palm Beach, FL.  Patty was blessed with six grandchildren and a seventh that is expected in December 2018 from Dane and Samantha. 

Patty is also survived by sister and brother-in-law Jeri L. Lloyd and Rusty Lloyd of Afton, Virginia.  Also Sister Cynthia A. Peiffer of Bedford, Texas and brother and sister-in-law Loyd R. McCoy lll and Susan McCoy of Akron, Ohio. Patty was also blessed with many nieces and nephews. 

Patty was born in Zanesville, Ohio and the second oldest of four children. Patty was a graduate of West Muskingum High School in Zanesville, Ohio.  Patty also received her Bachelor of Social Work, with a major in Social Work, Summa Cum Laude, from Florida Atlantic University in August, 2005. 

Patty and Scott met in Springfield, Ohio where Scott was participating as a pilot in the Ohio Air National Guard. They were married on October 8th, 1983 and established their home in Boca Raton, FL, where Scott was employed by Eastern Airlines as a pilot.  Patty held several positions of employment; as Claims Manager in the Insurance Department of Jim Moran and Associates, of Deerfield Beach, FL, Social Advocate in the States Attorney General’s Office, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Elementary School Teacher in the Palm Beach School System.

However, Patty’s primary goal was raising two young boys while Scott would travel extensively with both his Airline and Military flying obligations.  The Lord blessed Scott and Patty with the capability of spending the past ten summers in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin where they have a small condo on the Lake.  Being able to hike the Shore Path around Lake Geneva, sharing fun in the sun with either boat rides or simply swimming became a very “Cherished” time.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 1:00pm at Boca Raton Community Church in the Chapel at 470 NW 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida 33432. A reception will follow in the Churches dining room.  The Family will greet friends at the reception.  Patty will be cremated and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lake Geneva, Wisconsin.
