Patricia Auman Obituary

Patricia Marlene Auman (née Kinzer)

Patricia (Pat or Patty) Auman passed away peacefully at her home in Boca Raton, FL, on July 7, 2025, at the age of 92.

Pat was born on August 29, 1932, in Pottstown, PA to Joseph Martin Kinzer and Anna Rebecca Kinzer (née Davis). Patty attended Pottstown High School and was a member of the Melody Maids chorus, graduating in 1950. She was married on May 24, 1954 to Rev. Dr. Frederick Paul Auman, Jr., who predeceased her on Feb. 5, 2022 at the age of 91. Pat and Fred enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques and spending time at their vacation home on the East End of Long Island, NY. There they frequented the beach, boats, yard sales and farm stands and hosted many memorable gatherings. Pat and Fred also welcomed a variety of pets into their family over the years.

In addition to being a beloved and devoted wife, mother and homemaker, Pat was a crackerjack legal secretary for many years for Ballard, Spahr, Andrews & Ingersoll, and other firms. Pat was also known for her creativity and skill in art, knitting, crochet, embroidery, macramé and sewing, especially the exquisite, award-winning Halloween costumes she made for her grandchildren.

Her hand-made gifts are treasured by all who received them, for example, the famous knitted red and white Christmas stockings she made for family and friends. Her delicious Pennsylvania Dutch Shoo-Fly Pie was well-loved along with many other family recipes.

Pat enjoyed playing board games and solving puzzles. She loved Scrabble with a passion, and she was hard to beat! In her quiet moments, she enjoyed her bird friends who visited her bird feeder daily. Pat was an avid reader of history, biography and politics. She was also an enthusiastic fan of the Philadelphia and New York sports teams. In recent years she took up writing memoirs and essays.

Patricia lived a life marked by grace, quiet strength, and deep compassion. Her warmth, kindness, and gentle spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her.

Pat is survived by her children, David A. Auman, husband of Angela (Bennett) of Waynesboro, PA; Elizabeth K. Auman, wife of Steven Seidemann of Boca Raton, FL; and Martin P. Auman, husband of Christine (Fegeley) of Furlong, PA; grandchildren, Jason Auman, Jonathan Auman, Erika Auman, Samantha Auman, Madeline Auman, Annabel Seidemann, five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her grandson, Michael A. Auman, her brother, Ralph Kinzer, and her sister, Nancy Jones (née Kinzer).

Pat’s remains will be interred along with Fred’s in The Columbarium Garden at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Phoenixville, PA, on Sat. Sept. 14, time to be determined.

Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of your choice or The Scleroderma Foundation, http://scleroderma.org, or St. Gregory’s Episcopal Church, Boca Raton, FL https://www.stgregorysepiscopal.org/give-online
