Nivia Malave Maldonado Obituary

October 1941 - May 9, 2020

Nivia was born in Puerto Rico and immigrated to New Jersey with her family as a young child.  In 1964 the family returned to Puerto Rico where she married, Eduardo Maldonado in 1967.  She is survived by her son, Miguel Angel Maldonado of New Jersey.  She is also survived by her siblings, Carlos Malave (Puerto Rico), Nelson Malave (Pennsylvania), Father Will-Roger Malave (Connecticut), Blanca Petitone (Georgia), Linda Malave-Rasche (Florida) and Lillian Ford (Virginia).

Nivia was a Federal Government employee where she was a Social Security Representative.  At the time of her death, she was retired.  Recently she had relocated from Puerto Rico to Boca Raton, Florida, to be nearer to her family. She was able to meet and spend time with her siblings, nieces and nephews during her short period in Florida.  Nivia played an important roll in the life of her siblings.  She is now at peace.

A short visitation for family members and friends will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2020, from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton.  Nivia’s body will be transported to Porta Coeli Cemetery in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.
