Nick Coulouris

Nick Coulouris, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, friend and respected businessman  passed away on August 15 2023. He leaves behind his loving wife Susan of 53 years, his children Florendia and Vassili Kourkoumelis, Alexandra and Emmanuel Halivelakis; his grandchildren Panayoti Kourkoumelis 21, Dimitri Halivelakis 18, Niko Halivelakis 15.

Nick was born in Corfu, Greece on October 16, 1936. His Childhood in Corfu instilled a lifelong passion for cooking, and he loved to feed and teach about it to anyone who would listen.  He immigrated to America in the late 1960’s. Nick and Susan first met in New York, then moved to Connecticut to raise their family and went on to own several successful businesses together.  

Nick had 2 beautiful daughters, Florendia and Alexandra, who both meant the world to him and made him very proud. He entrusted his two daughters to Vassili Kourkoumelis and Manny Halivelakis . Nick had three grandsons. He was so proud of his children and grandchildren. Nick, eventually found his way to Florida where he spent the last 30 years. His happiest of days were spent shopping for fresh vegetables, having morning coffee with friends and experiencing his grandchildren as they grew into young men. They meant the world to him.

Nick was one of eight siblings; three brothers and four sisters. He is predeceased by his brother George, sisters: Dina and Polixeni. He is survived by his brothers: Leonidis, Geranimos (Eireni); and sisters Koula and Eireni.

Nick was a businessman who worked, managed and owned restaurants all his life. People would love to come and sit a while, eat and talk with him.  Even after he retired, he would make the rounds to the coffee shops to visit. He loved to go to Panera Bread restaurant every day and be with his friends as they all sat around giving their opinions on what was the news topic of the day and try to solve world issues over coffee. The day he left this world, he went to Panera Bread to see his friends and enjoy his morning. You all made him so happy. He will save you a seat. Nick, we all love you and will miss you dearly.

A viewing will be held at Glick’s Funeral Home in Boca Raton on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 from 5-8pm. The funeral will be held at Saint Marks Greek Orthodox Church in Boca Raton on August 23, 2023 at 9:30am. All friends and family are welcome.
