Nicholas William Pfeffer passed away on August 31, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of 21.
Nick was born in Fort Lauderdale on July 8, 2004, and raised in Boca Raton. Weaned on picture books and episodes of Little Bear, Nick grew to love Harry Potter novels, LEGO bricks, Pokémon cards and video games. He played Prince Charming in the Addison Mizner aftercare production of Cinderella, swam for the Boca Middle Cobras, and aced AP English Literature and Composition at Boca High.
Nick was a Dean’s List student at Florida State University, set to graduate in December 2025 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology. Thanks to his technical and communication skills, Nick earned a coveted summer internship at ReliaQuest in Tampa. Nick excelled during the 10-week program and was offered a full-time job to begin in January 2026.
Nick was wise beyond his years and had a terrific sense of humor. He was passionate about learning, and he was kind, generous and quick to help others. Nick had a talent for music; he could play songs by ear on the guitar and the piano, as well as compose his own pieces. He was a dependable workout partner, a pro at making pancakes, and an expert cat scratcher.
Most importantly, Nick was a good person with a good heart. And he is loved and missed immeasurably.
Nick leaves behind his heartbroken parents, Christine and Lawrence Pfeffer; grandmother Jean Merget; grandparents Wendy and Fred Rosenzveig; aunts and uncles Theresa and John Pfeffer, Amanda Pfeffer and Dr. Howard Dubarsky, David Pfeffer, and Lydia and Paul Merget; cousins Matthew, Olivia, Grace, Phillip, Andrew, Lisa, Dane, Lindsey and Carly; beloved girlfriend Sophie; and a close circle of friends. Nick was preceded in death by his great-grandmother Violette Franceschini, grandparents Albert and Carolyn Merget, and grandfather Saul Pfeffer.
Nick’s family is grateful for the many kindnesses they have experienced since his passing. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite cause in Nick’s memory.
A Memorial Service, followed by a reception will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, October 11 at Mount Carmel Hall at St. Jude Catholic Church, 21689 Toledo Road, Boca Raton, FL 33433.
