In Loving Memory of Maurozina Marcelino De Oliveira
June 10, 1951, ~ January 24, 2025 (Age 73)
Maurozina De Oliveira, a vibrant soul and beacon of independence, passed away peacefully and serenely, leaving behind a legacy of joy and a passion that touched nearly everyone she knew. Born in the exotic, beautiful and sun-drenched country of Brazil, Maurozina had recently obtained her US citizenship and was extremely proud to be a citizen of both. Living in Brazil for most of her life, she carved a path of remarkable achievements as a distinguished attorney, advocating for justice with an unwavering spirit.
She danced through life with the same elegance and passion as she did on dance floors, where her movements told stories of her love for freedom and passion for life. Her love for the beach was immense; the ocean was her sanctuary, where she found peace amidst the waves, wildlife, and silky sand with her laughter and joy mingled with the ever-present sea breeze.
An epicurean at heart, Maurozina cherished excellent food, not just for the means of nourishment, but as an art form. Time spent with her during meals were always filled with laughter, stories, memories, and the warmth of friendships that she nourished with care and affection.
Maurozina’s life was a testament to the joy of living fully and fearlessly. She was a friend to many, a mentor to those she guided in law, and a caring and loving mother. Her independence was her crown, worn with pride and grace, inspiring all to live life to the fullest authentically and with devout passion.
She leaves behind a community that will miss her radiant smile, her love for life, and her indomitable spirit. May her soul dance forever in the light of the sun that she adored so much. May the beaches whisper her name in their eternal songs, and may her memory continue to bring joy to the lives of others. Rest in Peace! She leaves behind a beautiful and loving daughter, Fernanda Makis, and her son-in-law, John Makis, her siblings, Marcelina, Maria Tutti, Marcionita, Luiz Antonio, and Ana, as well as relatives in Brazil.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, January 27 at the Boca Raton Cemetery.
