It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Matthew Taylor, beloved husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend, who left this world far too soon.
Matthew was a devoted husband of 20 years to his wife, Bruna, and the loving father of Alexander and Vanessa, whom he adored beyond measure. He also shared a special bond with his parents, Patricia and Stanley, his brothers, SJ and Chris and his Mema, Marcy, all of whom meant the world to him.
Matthew had an enormous heart and a deep desire to help others and animals alike. He had a special love for animals and showed them the same kindness and gentleness he gave to people. Which were shaped in no small part by his mother’s nurturing love. He would stop without hesitation to assist someone in their time of need, give the shirt off his back to anyone, help find lost pets and do everything he could to fix what was broken—whether it was a car, ac unit, a home, or a problem someone was facing. To those who knew him, he was truly “Mr. Fix It.”
He loved spending time with his family, going on bike rides, enjoying the park, fishing, working on projects, riding motorcycles, and being near the ocean. Though his ventures far out into the water caused plenty of anxiety for those watching, he always returned with beautiful seashells for Bruna and the children. Matthew also had a playful side: he loved karaoke, was a passionate conspiracy theorist, and had a beautiful singing voice. Karaoke nights often found him singing duets with his wife and discussing his beliefs in a very flat planet.
Matthew and Bruna met when they were just 17 years old, marking the beginning of a love story that lasted two decades. Their life together was built on deep love, understanding and commitment, it was truly them against the world.
Though Matthew faced internal struggles and personal battles, his love for his family never wavered. He dreamed of teaching Alex and Nessa everything he knew and building a future alongside his wife and children. His passing before his 38th birthday leaves an immeasurable void, and life will never be the same for those who loved him.
Matthew will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, loyalty, laughter, and the deep love he carried for his family. While his physical presence is gone, his energy, love, and memory will remain forever in every touch, laugh, hug, and shared moment until the day we meet again.
