Matthew John Summers

Matthew John "Matt" Summers, 57, of Lighthouse Point, Florida died peacefully in his sleep on the morning of December 25, 2024 in Hospice Care at John Knox Village in Pompano Beach, Florida.

Matthew was born on September 16, 1967 at Bethesda Hospital, Boynton Beach, Florida.  He attended Katy High School in Katy, Texas and Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, FL.  He was a talented athlete and excelled in all the sports he participated in, especially football and baseball.  He also earned a degree in "FAST", a Florida Fire Sprinkler Trade School and worked in the family business of fire sprinkler installations.  His hobbies included softball and weightlifting at the local gym.  Matthew passionately loved his children Brooke and Brenden.  Matthew was a Baptized Catholic.

Matthew is survived by his daughter Brooke, Stepson Brenden and their mother Jessica, 3 brothers, Rick, David, and Mark, 2 sisters, Sharon and Kathy, and many nieces, nephews, step nieces and step nephews.  He was preceded in death by his sisters Lorrie and Susan, mother Gladys, father Fred. 

A visitation will be held from 11-1 PM on Saturday, January 4th at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton where a Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM.  Burial will follow at the Boca Raton Cemetery.
