Mary "Stasia" Koyder Obituary

Our beloved mother and grandmother passed from this world on October 1st, 2020. She was 106 years old. In her final years, she resided in Boca Raton, FL to be closer to her daughter.

Mary was born in Poland, the youngest of six children. She married Walter Koyder in 1938 and together they survived the struggles of WWII. They made their home in Pennsylvania and Florida for more than sixty years.

She worked as a bookkeeper and later became a talented seamstress. Sewing for her daughter, granddaughter, friends and neighbors gave Mary great satisfaction.

Mary’s travel adventures with Walter included a cross country camping trip in the 60’s, to extended stays in Mexico and Indonesia. Her 100th birthday was celebrated on a Caribbean Cruise. Mary’s linguistic skills included Polish, English and Italian. (She loved to sing in Italian.)

She was kind, patient, giving and nurturing; a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Those close to her saw that she was full of grace. She exemplified calm in the midst of chaos and remained upbeat in most any situation.

In later years, she loved to sit by the window, watch the ocean and comment on the “beauty of God’s creation.” As her health declined, she would call her caregivers “my angels”.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Marysia Boinis, and son-in-law Ted Boinis, granddaughter Krysia Boinis, and in Poland, Nephew Zygmunt Olechowski, and many grand and great grand nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her infant son, Waldemar, in 1941, by her husband of 72 years, Walter, in 2010, and five sisters and brothers predeceased her in Poland.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at St Ambrose Catholic Church in Deerfield Beach at 9:30am. Following the mass, Mary will be interred with her late husband, Walter, at the Boca Raton Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary’s name to Trustbridge Hospice.
