Mary “Happy” Young

Born October 18, 1961 to Dorothy Bessette Young and Jack Arden Young

Passed Away December 31,2021

Happy is survived by her sisters: Laurette Y. Saenz and Jackie Y. Perez. Along with her three nieces: Natalie E. Perez, Elisha R. Saenz, Jenny L. Perez and her two nephews: Teshua S. Saenz and Jesse J. Perez.

Happy was born in Ft. Lauderdale Florida, then moved to Pompano Beach, FL at 8 years old, she remained there until we (the 3 sisters) sold the Pompano home in 1995. At that time she moved to Cocoa Beach, FL with her husband; Mark Otto and lived there until they returned to Pompano Beach, FL several years later.

Happy worked mainly as a nanny, but she and Mark always had a side hustle going on, they were great Entrepreneurs. Happy did many different types of crafts that she would sell at art shows. They did the Boca Fresh Market, where they sold grilled shrimp and drinks.

Unfortunately Happy was diagnosed with breast cancer and had to go through a few surgeries and chemo treatments. She developed an abscess and had surgery to remove it, she crashed in the OR and ended up in ICU for 28 days. After that she came out of ICU not able to use her right hand and with a bed sore on her lower back. It took almost a year in the hospital to recover from the bed sore, but she could no longer walk. Many rehab attempts and facilities later she entered a Nursing Home about 6 years ago, until December 31,2021 where she was rushed to the hospital and went home to be with the Lord, from a heart attack and diabetes.

Happy over the years learned how to love and appreciate her family deeply and was a loving sister and devoted Aunt to our kids. The older you get the more you realize what is really important in life, as we all do. May she rejoice with the Lord in her heavenly home where there are no more tears and no more pain! Permanently at peace in the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ forever more! And that is what truly matters!
