It is with profound sadness that I share the passing of my beloved grandmother, Mary Frances Twitty ( " Mom " ), who left us on December 5, 2024 at the age of 98. We will gather in a celebration of her life, one well lived.
Mary was surrounded by her loving family and friends in her final moments. Mary was truly a Renaissance Woman who's life touched a multitude of all types of people. She will be remembered for her boundless energy, love of life, optimism, altruistic nature, faith, and loyalty.
Mary's passions include education, politics, writing, mentorship on multiple levels
"If you were looking for Mary in her prime, the last place she'd be was at Home!"
Mary extensively traveled the world both professionally and personally.
She was nicknamed Mom because she mothered many people throughout her life.
She is survived by her granddaughter, Ashley Marie Brooks, her sister, Julia Simon, her nephew Steven A. Simon and wife Gail, and her son-in-law, Dr. Jerry Brooks.
Mary was born in Chicago and attended DePaul University. She was a loving sister, mother, and grandmother. After retiring from the U.S. House of Representatives as a Special Assistant to two different Members of Congress for many years, she retired in Boca Raton, Florida and was a prolific writer authoring many novels.
