Mary Quintana Obituary

In Loving Memory of Mary Stela Vergara Quintana

With profound sadness, yet unwavering faith in God’s promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of our beloved Mary Stela Vergara Quintana, who entered peacefully into the presence of her Savior on June 30th, 2026 at 3:33AM.

Mary was born on April 7, 1963, in Caraguatay, Paraguay, where she spent her early years surrounded by family, faith, and the values that would shape the remarkable woman she became. Throughout her life, she carried those values with grace, creating a home filled with love, laughter, generosity, and unwavering devotion to those she cherished most.

Mary had an extraordinary gift for making people feel welcomed. Her smile could brighten the darkest day, and her laughter was truly contagious. She believed life was meant to be celebrated—not through material things, but through meaningful moments shared with the people you love. Whether enjoying a glass of wine with family and friends, telling stories around the table, or simply making everyone laugh, Mary embraced every opportunity to create memories that would last a lifetime.

Her greatest calling was her family. Mary was a devoted wife, a fiercely loving mother, and above all, the proudest Abuela. Being an Abuela was one of life’s greatest blessings. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Lily and Jaxson. She adored every hug, every laugh, every milestone, and every precious moment she shared with them. The love she poured into them will continue to guide them throughout their lives.

Mary’s faith in God was the foundation of her life. Through seasons of joy and seasons of hardship, she trusted in the Lord with steadfast faith. Even in the face of illness, she demonstrated incredible courage, grace, and hope, reminding everyone around her that God’s love is stronger than fear and that His promises are everlasting. While her family mourns her absence, they find comfort knowing she is now completely healed, free from pain, and resting peacefully in the arms of her Savior.

She leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured by years alone, but by the countless lives she touched. Her kindness, compassion, strength, humor, and unconditional love will continue to live on in everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her greatest wish was for her family to remain close, love one another deeply, and always keep their faith in God.

Mary is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Gregorio Quintana; her beloved daughter, Cindy Riopelle; her treasured grandchildren, Lily and Jaxson Riopelle; her loving mother and father; her beloved sisters and brothers; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

Though our hearts are broken, we rejoice in the promise of eternal life. We know that this goodbye is only temporary, and that because of Christ, we will one day be reunited. Until that glorious day, we will honor Mary’s memory by living as she taught us—to laugh often, love deeply, forgive freely, and cherish every moment with those we hold dear.

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” — John 10:10
