Mary McArthur, 91, of Delray Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully in Boca Raton, Florida, on April 23, 2026, following a recent illness.
Mary was a woman of immense heart, known for her deep devotion to her family and her selfless service to her community. Beyond her career and home life, she possessed a profound gift for nurturing others. Over the years, she opened her home and heart as a foster mother to 33 infants, providing each with love, care, and stability until they were placed with their forever families. The impact of her compassion lives on in the many lives she helped shape—an immeasurable and enduring part of her family’s legacy.
Her greatest joy was her family. Mary was the cornerstone of five generations and took immense pride in watching her family grow and flourish.
She is survived by her sons: William McArthur; Donald McArthur (Sue); James McArthur (Michele); and Robert McArthur. She is also lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Mary is now reunited with her beloved husband, Donald W. McArthur, who passed in 2014, and her cherished daughter, Leann Rand, who passed in 2016.
In keeping with Mary’s wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date.
A life is not measured by the years lived, but by the love shared and the lives touched.
