Mary DePalo passed away peacefully on February 12th, surrounded by the love of her family. A devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary lived a life rooted in faith, generosity, and strength.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mary carried with her a love and commitment for family and community throughout her entire life. She found immense joy in her career and calling as a music teacher. Mary made a lasting impact on scores of students by sharing her greatest gift, the music that lived within her soul. She was a longtime and faithful member of Our Lady Queen of the Apostles in Wellington, where she was a lifetime member of the women’s Columbiettes and found great joy in service and fellowship.
Mary’s greatest pride was her family. She is survived by her three children Frank DePalo , Maria Cohen, and Theresa Garrison. Ten grandchildren, Jessica, Nick, Chelsea, Victoria , Anthony, Samantha, Taylor, step granddaughter Ashlee, Kyra Vincent. Three great grandchildren - Jayden, Kaylee, Greyson, and her brother Phil, and other loved ones who will forever cherish her warmth, wisdom, dedication and support. She had a gift for making others feel welcomed, heard, and loved.
Whether through her sarcastic humor, her beautiful operatic voice, her unwavering faith, or the simple comfort of her presence, Mary left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the values she instilled. She will be missed dearly, and her voice will carry into eternity.
Mary's favorite saying was "come on down!" She made you feel instantly welcome. Her home was a place where everyone gathered, the coffee was always brewing, and the food was always on the table.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Feeding America.
