Mary Patricia (Berndt) Bowers, 70, of Deerfield Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Cheryl, her son-in-law, Dale; her son, Eddie, and daughter-in-law, Michele; her cherished grandchildren, Emily, Hillary, Catelyn, and Anna; her great-grandchildren, Lelan, Nick, and Declan; her sisters, Teresa (the late Jim), Kathleen (Bill), and Eileen (Mark); her brother, Fred (Barbara); and many beloved extended family members and friends.
Her beloved husband, Clarence Bowers, who passed away before her, shared a lifetime of love and devotion with Mary.
Born in Peekskill, New York, Mary was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was known for her unwavering love, quiet strength, and heartfelt dedication to her family, which was the center of her world. Mary built a meaningful career as a teacher and later as an education supervisor within the prison system, where she made a lasting difference in the lives of others.
She generously gave her time as president of her TOPS group, was an active member of her book club, and enjoyed water aerobics with her Deer Creek community. Mary always showed up for her loved ones in times of need. She cherished time spent with her sisters, Teresa, Kathleen, and Eileen, along with her brother Fred, and truly valued family time together. Mary was welcomed into the Bowers family with open arms and always enjoyed the annual family reunions at the family farm.
Mary’s bond with her daughter, Cheryl, was irreplaceable. They shared a profound love and a close, unwavering connection, supporting and cherishing each other through life’s moments. Whether celebrating holidays together or enjoying quiet, everyday times, their time together was always precious to Mary.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 23, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., followed by a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. at Glick Family Funeral Home, 3600 N Federal Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431.
