Dr. Martin Grossman, aged 89, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed peacefully on April 6, 2025, surrounded by family.
Preceded in death by his wife of 47 years, Arlene, and his brother, Howard, along with faithful dogs Barkley, Magic, and Kovy. Survivors include his children Jay, Jill, and Leah, and grandchildren Justin, Avery, Gabrielle, and Melanie.
Martin was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School, NYU and the NYU School of Dentistry where he graduated first in his class.
After time serving in the US Army at Fort Riley, Kansas, he returned to Brooklyn, NY to take over his ailing father’s dental practice which had existed since the Depression. When he moved to Florida he transitioned to the developing field of digital radiography.
Martin was also a rabid fan of hockey for 75 years right through to his last days. He was the President of the Greater New York City Ice Hockey League which pioneered the development of players from the city and surrounding areas. So much so that his daughter Leah was born at a NY Rangers’ playoff game In 1978.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, April 14th, at 10:30 am, at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 South State Road 7, in Lake Worth. Shiva will be held at the Grossman residence on Monday, April 14th from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the United States in his loving memory.
